Heather Mulford received her BA degree in History and Political Science from Alvernia University and her M.Ed from West Chester University.  She is currently a teacher with the Chester County Intermediate Unit where she has been teaching High School Social Studies for 20 years.  Her areas of expertise include United States History, American Government, Western Civilization, World Cultures, Economics, and Humanities.  An avid reader of classic and modern literature, she often times will coordinate with English teachers to create cross curriculum lessons bringing relevance and connections to history and reading.  Heather enjoys bringing history to life for students, helping to link current events to history so students will appreciate and apply historical events and their impact on our world today.  Heather also excels and helping students with study skills, having taught a 9th grade course called “School Success” that teaches students how to organize, plan and study in a manner that matches their learning styles.  She assists students with their ELA essay completion, college entrance applications, resumes, cover letters and job applications.  Heather will tell you that her greatest joy is seeing students that have mastered their study skills excel on an exam with minimal assistance from her.  She believes in teaching to lead students to their own self-reliance, preparing them for higher level courses in AP and college.
